The Arrival of Jesus

Image
The arrival of Jesus will be an event of victory and finality. That day will include the resurrection of the saints, judgment, and new creation . The return of Jesus at “ the conclusion of this evil age ” will be an event of complete finality. His “ arrival ” or ‘ Parousia ’ (παρουσια) will be accompanied by celestial and terrestrial upheaval, the arrival of the New Creation, the resurrection of the dead, the judgment of the unrighteous, the destruction of “ the Man without law ,” the gathering of Christ’s elect, and the end of death itself.

La Llegada de Jesús

Image

Key Final Events

Image
The New Testament predicts several key events that will occur before the arrival of the Son of Man in glory . The New Testament predicts several events that will occur before Jesus returns. They will be the culmination of the period between Christ’s Ascension and his arrival, a period characterized by many deceptions, occasional persecution, and apostasy. Before this age ends, an especially destructive deceiver will appear in the Church, the final apostasy will take place, and Satan will launch his final attempt to destroy the Body of Christ.

The Sign of the End

Image
According to Jesus, the End will not come until the Gospel of the Kingdom of God has been proclaimed to all nations – Matthew 24:14. When the subject of the Second Coming is raised, the question of what sign will precede it is asked. Invariably, wars, earthquakes, tsunamis, famines, and similar catastrophes are offered as harbingers of that final day. Yet Jesus gave the definitive answer to this question - the   completion of the Church’s mission to proclaim his salvation and lordship to all nations.

On doing the whole Law

Image
Anyone who is under the Law of Moses is obligated to keep all its required deeds and rituals, and therefore, risks coming under its curse . In his Letter to the Galatians , Paul responded to teachings by certain “ men from Jerusalem ” who were disrupting the churches, claiming that male Gentiles must be circumcised “ to complete ” their faith. This group also promoted following the Hebrew calendar and the Levitical dietary regulations.

Dividing the Church

Image
Returning to the jurisdiction of the Torah means the restoration of the old social barriers between Jews and Gentiles . The third chapter of Galatians  is pivotal to Paul’s argument for the unity of God’s people. The old social divisions under the Mosaic Legislation are inappropriate in God’s One Covenant Community since the promised “ Seed of Abraham ”  has arrived, namely, Jesus of Nazareth. In Christ’s Assembly, “ No longer can there be Jew or Greek ! ”

The Gift of the Spirit

Image
The promise of the Spirit is vital to the redemption of humanity and the Covenant of God with His people, the Church of Jesus Christ . The New Testament links the “ Promise of the Spirit ” to the “ Blessings of Abraham ,” the promise that God will bless the nations through the Great Patriarch. The Spirit is the gift believers receive “ through the hearing of faith .” It is part of the Covenant promised to Abraham, and the Apostle Peter connects this gift to “ the blessings ” for the nations, the Gentiles, in his sermon preached on the Day of Pentecost.

El Espíritu Vivificante

Image
Nuestra naturaleza carnal no aprovecha nada.

The Revelation of Jesus

Image
At the revelation of Jesus from Heaven, the saints will experience glory, but the wicked will receive everlasting destruction . Paul describes the believers of Corinth as those who are “ eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus ,” and he connects this event to “ the Day of the Lord .” In his letters, Paul refers to Christ's return as the ' Parousia ' (“ arrival ”), the ' erchomai ' (“ coming ”), and the ' epiphaneia ' (“ manifestation ”) of Jesus, as well as his “ revelation ” or ' apocalypsis .'

One Final Judgment

Image
Each of the three sevenfold series of Revelation concludes with a final judgment scene that transpires at the end of the age . Final judgment scenes occur several times in the Book of Revelation . The sevenfold series of Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls of Wrath all culminate in the final judgment, and each time, the end of the series is punctuated by the same terrestrial and celestial phenomena.

Destrucción Inesperada

Image

Sudden Destruction

Image
Paul continued his discussion about Christ’s arrival by addressing what will occur on the Day of the Lord – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3. The Apostle Paul discusses the “ arrival ” or ‘ Parousia ’ of Jesus and the Day of the Lord in chapters 4 and 5 of  1 Thessalonians . In Chapter 4, he declares that both dead and living Christians will be gathered to meet the Lord as he descends from Heaven. In Chapter 5, Paul links that and related events to “ the Day of the Lord ,” and he explains how that day will affect the godly and the ungodly.

The Time is Now!

Image
The previously hidden mysteries of God are revealed in Jesus, and especially so in his Death and Resurrection, History’s turning point . The Bible speaks of the “ mysteries ” of God, His ways that are hidden from human wisdom and defy expectations. As Jesus declared, not everyone can understand the “ mysteries of the Kingdom .” It is God who reveals the deep and obscure things to whomever He pleases, and in His Son, He has done so for all men to see. Or at least, for those with “ eyes that can see .”

Reigning from Zion

Image
Following his Resurrection, Jesus began his reign from the Messianic Throne as prophesied by David – Psalm 2:6-9. Only Jesus is the Messiah and King of Israel, only he is God’s Anointed.  There will never be another , and all competing claimants to this designation are imposters and liars. This same Jesus reigns over the Earth today. His Kingdom is a present reality, and his reign will be consummated when he returns – (1 Corinthians 15:24-28, Revelation 1:4-6).

¿Lealtad a quién?

Image

Allegiance to Whom?

Image
In the Book of Revelation, every man and woman must choose between loyalty to the Beast from the Sea or the Sacrificial Lamb . Discussions on the “ Mark of the Beast ” focus on the significance of its number, ‘ 666 .’ We wish to understand it so we may avoid taking it. To better appreciate the ramifications of taking its “ Mark ,” we must perceive that the  Book of Revelation  contrasts the “ Mark of the Beast ” with the “ Seal of God .”

Solo en Jesús

Image
